academics special programs students school leadership partners

Students at UASDC are held to the highest standards. They are expected to arrive on time; adhere to our professional dress code; and prepare for college by completing all assignments and seeking help when necessary. UASDC does its part by guiding students in advisory; offering an after school Homework Center, tutoring sessions and student activities; introducing students to professionals in the field and colleges in the New York area; and teaching a rigorous, college preparatory curriculum in all subject areas.

UASDC Policies and Procedures

UASDC asks of students what the business world asks of professionals: that they arrive on time, work hard and dress appropriately. At UASDC, the dress code is rigorously observed. Students meet with professionals and adults who visit the school on a regular basis, and they take trips to architectural firms and world-famous museums. By dressing professionally, students are prepared to represent UASDC and themselves appropriately.

Attendance and Lateness

Absenteeism and tardiness are not acceptable in college, at the workplace, or at UASDC. If a student is absent, he or she must bring a note form a parent the next day. If a student is absent for more than three days, he or she must bring a note from a doctor.

Any student who is late for school is required to remain at school beyond the normal school day.

Food in Class

Food and drink are not permitted in the classrooms, hallways or restrooms at any time. All students complete lunch application forms.

Electronic Devices

In accordance with the Chancellor's regulations and Park West Campus policy, students may not bring cell phones, pagers, portable CD players, hand-held video games or other electronic devices into the school building. The device will be confiscated until the parent or guardian picks up the item at the end of the day.

Park West Campus Community

We share the Park West High School Campus with five other schools: Park West High School (12th grade); High School for Hospitality Management (9th and 10th grades); Food and Finance High School (9th and 10th grades); Manhattan Bridges High School (9th, 10th, and 11th grades); and Facing History High School (9th grades). It is critical to our cooperative relationship with these other schools that UASDC students respect the other students, faculty and space of the entire Park West Campus.
